Our History

Denton Central Appraisal District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas
for the purpose of discovering and appraising property for ad valorem tax purposes —
for each local taxing unit — within the boundaries of the district.
Established in 1982

Not a subdivision of Denton County or the Denton County Tax Office

In 2023, Denton CAD has approximately:

473,000 Accounts to Appraise Each Year
Total Market Value of $240 Billion

Serves 111 Local Taxing Units
104 Full Time Budgeted Employees
